Past and Ongoing Projects

One of the essential tasks at Kentucky Camp, as part of the Coronado National Forest Heritage Society, is the application of a layer of adobe mud on the exteriors of the historic buildings. This protective layer serves as a shield against the relentless forces of wind and rain, safeguarding the underlying adobe bricks. Preserving these bricks is of utmost importance as they provide vital structural support to these remarkable buildings. Over the past year, dedicated work parties have diligently applied sacrificial mud, primarily focusing on the Stetson rental cabin and the Gold Processing Building.
